Ancient Tools. Timeless Wisdom. Immediate Results.
Developed by Yogi Amrit Desai aka Gurudev Shri Amritji, the Integrative Amrit Method (I AM) encompasses a system of teachings, tools, and techniques rooted in Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. The system is unique in that it was inspired by Gurudev’s awakening in 1970, a pivotal experience that fundamentally transformed his consciousness and resulted in his total dedication to practicing and teaching what he calls the inner dimension of Yoga.
I AM Yoga is designed to enhance your capacity to live fully, spontaneously, and intentionally. The Amrit Method facilitates an ability to cultivate harmony with what you are experiencing moment-to-moment, while also responding effectively to life’s varied challenges.
I AM Yoga Practice gives you keys to accessing the “zone” of peak experience at will. Through this practice you will develop not only physical flexibility, endurance and strength, but the capacity to transcend habitual reactions and transform your experience, whether intense and challenging or ordinary, into a joyful flow. Yoga practice is far more than a physical workout. Postures are tools to discover and explore hidden inhibitions. These inhibitions appear as weakness or stiffness in the body, but deeper exploration reveals their origin: deep-seated fears, habit patterns, and belief systems that drain strength, accelerate ageing, and cause chronic tension. Through I AM teachings and practice, you learn how to transcend instinctive, automatic fight/flight/freeze reactions and move into each posture with full awareness, consciously surpassing (not suppressing) anxiety and defensive tension. Once you learn how to do this in the “laboratory” of your asana (posture) practice, you can apply the same skills in every area of your life. The physical practice of I AM Yoga strongly builds and circulates life energy through the body-mind complex, creating what is known in yoga as nadi shuddhi, purification of vital channels. This is the groundwork for developing capacity to experience life as energy, more fully and directly, at every level of your being. Clarification of the mind-body system opens access to greater physical, cognitive, perceptual, emotional, and relational awareness and higher function.
I AM Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based meditation practice of deep, conscious relaxation, where your awareness drops below the level of self-imposed limitations, doubts, and self-concepts, then expands beyond the boundaries of body and mind into the realm of super-learning, spontaneous healing, and intuitive insight. This simple practice has profound restorative and balancing effects and is safe and easy to practice. If you are a yoga practitioner, discover a new dimension to your practice and open the door to meditation. If you are a meditator, prepare to be blown away by the mind-stilling depth, comfort, and ease of the yoga nidra experience. If you have never tried yoga or meditation, yoga nidra contains the most profound revelations of the yogic system in the most easily accessible form. If you can breathe, you can practice this technique! Yoga nidra is especially recommended for working with compulsive habits, trauma, high blood pressure, pain, sleep disturbance, anxiety, injury, preparing for, dealing with, and recovering from intense experience, such as life-changing events or extreme athletic performance, and for intentional creation.
